Rules and Regulations

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR TOURNAMENTS

1. GTTA will follow the following pattern of seeding for tournament draws
2. Seedings will be based on the ranking for the first four tournaments. The fixtures for the draw will be as follows:
1st Tournament
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 8 in quarters
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 7 in quarters
Ranked no 3 will meet Ranked no 6 in quarters
Ranked no 4 will meet Ranked no 5 in quarters
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 4 in semis
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 3 in semis
2nd Tournament
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 7 in quarters
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 8 in quarters
Ranked no 3 will meet Ranked no 5 in quarters
Ranked no 4 will meet Ranked no 6 in quarters
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 3 in semis
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 4 in semis
3rd Tournament
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 6 in quarters
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 5 in quarters
Ranked no 3 will meet Ranked no 8 in quarters
Ranked no 4 will meet Ranked no 7 in quarters
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 4 in semis
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 3 in semis
4th Tournament
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 5 in quarters
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 6 in quarters
Ranked no 3 will meet Ranked no 7 in quarters
Ranked no 4 will meet Ranked no 8 in quarters
Ranked no 1 will meet Ranked no 3 in semis
Ranked no 2 will meet Ranked no 4 in semis
Seeding will change after every 4 tournaments and the aforesaid pattern of seeding will be followed. Anybody intrested to witness the draws are free to come at the venue.
3. All the non seeded players have to report by 4 for all tournaments.
4. Seeded players have to report by 6.30.
5. If the players don’t report within the stipulated time additional 15 minutes with 3 calls/ announcements shall be considered before giving a walkover.
6. It is to the discretion of the chief referee if additional time has to be granted based on genuine reasons.
7. 10 points shall be deducted of seeded players who give walkover after the draw .
8. But it is at the discretion of the committee to consider the deduction based on genuine reasons.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SELECTIONS

1. The player has to be a resident of the state of Goa or studying or working in Goa and has to be registered with GTTA for the year 2016.
2. A player has to play a minimum 3 tournaments and state championship to be eligible for the national selection.
3. The total of average points earned by the players will be the criteria for selection to the state team i.e total points divided by no of tournaments .
4. If a player reaches pre-quarter finals in his category in the national ranking championship zonals then he gets 10 points in this category here in Goa, in quarter finals at zonals 20 points here , in semis finals then 40 , then finalist 60, and winner at zonals 80 points here in Goa.
5. Also if the player gets points in category above his at national level then the same points like above shall be added to the category below the one he has won till his category here in Goa.
6. For example a cadet player reaches quarter finals of juniors category at zonals then 20 points shall be added to juniors, sub juniors and cadets here in Goa.
7. For international participation same as above shall be considered however the points to be given here shall be double of points given for national ranking like 20 in pre-quarters and and 40 in quarters and so on.
8. Selection shall be based on the total of average points earned by the player as per rule 3 , all national points and international points and discipline of the player.
9. The final decision shall be at the discretion of the managing committee.
